I realize things have been slow on the blog lately. Right now we’re in the fourth quarter at work and mandatory overtime is the name of the game. To top it off, Tina’s car is in the shop right now and the mechanic isn’t sure what’s wrong, but “I’ve never seen anything like this before.” At least I don’t have to wonder what all of this time and a half will go for…

In other news, I received a letter about my Bible reading project that initially kicked off this blog. A representative of a church has asked me if I would allow them to provide printouts of the projects to their congregation. My response to anyone who sees this is to please use whatever resources you find here if you determine that it will benefit your church.

Here’s the deal in regards to duplicating your church’s Bible reading plan based on this site. I ask is that this blog be given some acknowledgment at the beginning of the campaign and also if you decide to use one of my (then) weekly posts. Those posts were originally intended to accompany the weekly newsletter, but the real “meat” of the project was in the reading and my commentary. That commentary is little more than just me responding to the particular text of the day.

So if you want to just use the reading plan and not my commentary, feel free. If you want to add my commentary, I encourage you to proofread it a bit and make any alterations you deem necessary PROVIDED you are a leader in your church and meet the qualifications of an elder (an example is found in Titus 1). Both of these components can be used with only a mention of this website at the beginning. If you want to use the weekly devotional post, I will ask that you post a link either to that specific page or to www.coffeeswirls.com since that writing is just a little bit more “mine.”

Now to respond to that church if only I can find a stamp. Tell you what, if you sent this request to me via mail, do me a favor and leave a comment so we can save a tree and a paper cut on my tongue. I have the worst luck licking envelopes!

Doug: I ‘just happened’ to go to your home page late last night (11/6/07), where I discovered your mention of the letter I sent you around the first of October. Imagine my surprise when I saw your reference to the request for permission reprint your Bible reading plan. My husband has ministered at the same church here in Odessa since 1973. We accept the terms and conditions you outlined for using this material…we will play by all the rules. Thank you so much!

    Blessings,
    Barb and Paul W.
