This is a parody of the song “Amazing Grace” that I have seen in a few locations, most recently at Wholly His. I got a chuckle out of it, and I trust you will as well. Also, as I am more of the mind that the Bible is a true book than most Arminians, Open Theists or Idolaters, I’ll provide a few links to show that God-demeaning thoughts are faulty at their best and eternally dangerous at their worst.
I’ve added some Biblical passages that I thought of as I read this for the first time. Can you improve on my ideas? Comments or trackbacks (located in the comments area of the post) appreciated!
Arminian grace! How strange the sound
Salvation hinged on ME
I once was lost then turned around
Was blind then chose to see
What “grace†is it that calls for choice
Out of some good within?
The part that willed to heed God’s voice
Proved stronger than my sin
Through many ardent gospel pleas
I sat with heart of stone
But then some hidden good in me
Propelled me toward my home
When we’ve been there ten thousand years
Because of what we’ve done
We’ve no less days to sing our praise
Than when we first begun

OK, You have been exposed to someone who teaches Supralapsarianism. That is a view that is the minority among Calvinists, though they tend to be the most vocal. Please check this post for a breakdown of three views within Calvinism regarding the order of salvation. The “Supra” view is dark. But it is the minority view.
In other words, don’t taze me, bro.
I know what supra/infra/sub-lapsarianism is. I’m not talking about the order of decrees – I’m talking about chronological order of events. Infras also affirm that people are reprobated before they sin – obviously because they are reprobated before they are born. I understand that infras try to avoid the logical conclusions of Calvinism, but the fact is an allknowing God “allowing” sin really could not be ignorant of it’s consequences, so it makes precious little difference. (”Allowing” in ” ” because Calvinists generally affirm that God ordains whatsoever comes to pass.)
I suspect we won’t see eye to eye on this, and I apologize if I sounded harsh. I was motivated by the fact that I don’t like my beliefs being misrepresented as Pelagianism. We are still brothers in Christ, and I wish you the best.
