My name is Doug McHone and I approve this message.

I don't get it. If the candidate for public office is the one giving the message, why does he then have to approve it? Doesn't that go without saying? Or do they think that if they don't approve their own message, we wouldn't take them seriously?

Guys, either approve of your message or don't say it. I prefer the latter option, but it is a free country, right? :)
