I’ll was busy Saturday helping a friend move and running errands, but I would like to mention my cousin, Stephen, who is stationed in Iraq at Camp Anaconda and ask that you remember him in your prayers. Here’s an exerpt of his most recent e-mail home:
I’m here in Anaconda things are really hectic, don’t have much time on com. There are mortars going off all the time and we have to rush to the bunkers, I’m doing ok. Lots of love.-SpC [Stephen] Baker
When this e-mail was forwarded to my inbox, I kept on noodling Camp Anaconda. Where had I heard of that camp before? And then it hit me. Jim, a friend of Bryan’s is in the same camp.
Tell ya what Bryan. You pray for mine and I’ll pray for yours, OK?
Update:

I have put up a page for requests of this nature. I felt that a page with an address that is easier to remember would be more beneficial than this one.

I am looking for my friend Tim Gitchel (I call him TJ). He left from Newark, Ohio for Iraq at the end of Oct’05. I heard he was at Camp Anaconda, does that name ring a bell? If not, thank you so much for your time and I hope you have a great day.
Sincerely, Sarah Stell

I couldn’t begin to guess the number of people regularily praying for the entire camp on a regular basis. We need to remember people at home as well, as they cope with their loved ones being away for this time.

Yes you are right. I am one of them and my fiance means the world to me and it is sooo hard to go everyday w/out feeling his touch and hearing him tell me that he loves me. I know that there are a whole lot of people out there that feel the same as I do. And trust me, I am praying for each and everyone of them. If neone needs me my e-mail is lilwray2002@yahoo.com, and my yahoo ID is lilwray2002. Bye bye for now.

The original intent of this post was to ask for prayers for our troops, not as any kind of official prayer site. If, however, anyone wishes to share their requests for this purpose here, we can all pray together for the loved ones of each other.
So far, we have Stephen, Jim, Tim, Derrick, and Sgt. Derilus. Are there any others to add to the list?

You all, I think that we can pray for who we would like to pray for. Everyone knows that the loved ones of those brave men are in their prayers just as much as the soldiers are. Do you have any family or friends over there? If not then you wouldn’t know what it felt like would you? Okay then….. Thank you all for revealing what is really from your heart. Not from what SOME PEOPLE are telling you…

And I will miss him till he comes home for good. I love each and every one of those brave soldiers and I know in my heart that god is watching over all of our guys (and women) thanks so much again for all the support, and I will show as much as I can,

Please post any further comments to the page I have set up for Camp Anaconda:
http://www.coffeeswirls.com/anaconda
For what it’s worth, this has been one of the best experiences I have had since I have started this website-turned blog. Having the opportunity to connect people for mutual prayer support for our troops is a real blessing to me and I trust that those troops who have been made aware of this effort appreciate all the prayers sent on their behalf by people they love and people they may never meet in this lifetime.
Again, I am closing the comments on this post, but comments and prayer requests for the troops are welcome at http://www.coffeeswirls.com/anaconda.
Prayer: Somethimes it’s the MOST you can do!
