The Book of Enoch

I wrote recently about how the book of Enoch contradicts the Bible. Here’s a pretty good summary about it:

Why do I point this out in this category? Because Michael Heiser relies on the myths of Enoch, a book not even written by Enoch, for the foundation of his claims. Much like the tower of Babel, the book of Enoch seeks to find wisdom apart from the revealed will of God. It seeks to walk parallel to the scriptures, even as it makes claims that contradict the Bible.

The tower of Enoch may stand, but at the very least it can be expected to lean. A fun place to visit, maybe take a selfie with it, but you don’t want to live there. And you don’t want to attach yourself to the document if you are to call yourself a biblical scholar. If you decide to stand near it, I suggest you only do so on the side that is not slowly falling to the ground.
