About last night

I realize I have not yet released my next installment in the study of “Supernatural” by Michael Heiser. Life happens, busy days come, you get it. I am no longer a “once a day” blogger, nor am I one that has an overriding need to remain in a theme until it is completed. I don’t intend to abandon this project, but the liberties Heiser used in that last chapter stunned me. Unforced errors of attacking unrelated viewpoints followed by grounding yourself in extra-biblical sources that contradict Christianity 101 understandings can be derailing for any knowledgeable reader.

What about last night? Last night was the State of the Union address, which I have never mentioned in this blog before for any prior year. I only really cared last night because my governor, Kim Reynolds, was delivering the official response to it. And that’s pretty sweet! Iowa was among the freest places on the entire globe for these last two years. No, that’s not hyperbole. COVID restrictions ravaged people and revealed tyrants across the planet. Places like Australia and Canada were revealed to be no better than China and Yemen in their freedoms. States like California and New York were revealed to be places that free people fled from, rather than where they sought to raise families.

My governor held the line and made sure that her subordinates couldn’t take liberties against the people in the state. Including my local mayor, who sought to create a police state where officers no longer focused on crimes and instead doled out financial penalties for not conforming to the spirit of the age. Because of the leadership of Kim Reynolds, I was not penalized for walking about my neighborhood without a mask that the CDC has now acknowledged is useless against a virus.

2 Corinthians 3:17
Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

So we attended the SOTU watch party, hearing a litany of evil from the Implanted President of the US. Telling transvestites that he would help them secure their God-given potential, and more. I could have taken notes to document his rejection of reality as God has informed us in His word, but that is not why I was there. I was there in the hopes that Kim Reynolds would make an appearance.

The drinks were overpriced and the energy in the room was electric. Current and former officeholders were in attendance. Former governors, senators, congresspeople, and more were there. I am no respecter of persons, which means that I do not kiss any cabooses, so don’t you worry, I won’t be running for office. I rubbed elbows with them a bit, then went to the most important person in the room, my wife.

Hold on, Here’s the pivot!

As we watched the demonic litany, we spoke with some of the people around us. One woman in particular was rather interesting. She told us that the virus and also the vaccine were demonic and that Wormwood and Activated Charcoal were what we needed to acquire, referencing the four horses of Revelation. We needed both Wormwood and activated charcoal to survive the coming days, and nothing else would do.

Oh boy.

She then told us that there are truths in the book of Enoch 1, though Enoch 2 and 3 were problematic. And the only reason Enoch 1 wasn’t in the Bible is that the Catholic church removed it.

Oh boy.

I reminded her that Jesus said “Heaven and Earth will pass away but my word will never pass away” and she responded that it was the church who had removed scriptures from the canon. I told her that I prefer to side with the power of Jesus over her claims. I didn’t convince her. She didn’t convince me. Her husband was there, but he wasn’t interested in the conversation.

She then told me that she was trying to walk her dog the other day when she was chased down the street by a Nephilim.

Yes, a Nephilim.

She had no explanation of why a giant cared about her dog or where they are right now, but “They are just waiting for the right moment to come after us!”

I did talk to her a bit about extending her beliefs beyond what the Bible has to say and she could see that I wasn’t on board her crazy train. Cue the music. She asked me if I would be in the New Jerusalem and I said I would. She said she would see me there. I hope that’s true. I honestly do.

If she is in Christ, it is not because she believes in using Wormwood, Activated Charcoal, or anything she has read in Enoch. If she relies on any of that, I will not see her in the New Creation. She will be lost in outer darkness, in the place reserved for the demons. The place where those who reject Christ alone as their substitute will forever reside in torment.

From 2 Timothy 3
Avoid such people. For among them are those who creep into households and capture weak women, burdened with sins and led astray by various passions, always learning and never able to arrive at a knowledge of the truth.

To be fair, she wasn’t weak because she was a woman, nor was she a woman because she was weak. Her husband was standing right there the entire time. He could have pumped the brakes. He could have pointed to the firm foundation of scripture. But he didn’t. Reminds me a lot of Genesis 3.

And that’s all I have to say about that.

Spread the love
